Carmen Knight
Co-Owner & Chief Executive Officer
Carmen Knight serves as Co-Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Ascend Contracting Group, providing executive leadership, operational oversight, strategic planning, project administration, budgeting, procurement, compliance, business development, and client relations.
With more than eight years of experience in construction operations, project management, contractor coordination, customer relations, and business administration, Carmen has built a reputation for delivering organized, efficient, and client-focused project execution across residential, commercial, and government projects.
Prior to co-founding Ascend Contracting Group, Carmen owned and operated HandyPro Home Services Maryland and later served in an operational leadership role with Affordable Home Solutions, overseeing remodeling projects, contractor coordination, scheduling, quality control, customer communications, and daily operations.
Today she leads company operations while continuing to expand Ascend Contracting Group throughout the Mid-Atlantic region with a commitment to integrity, accountability, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.

Paul V. Facchina Jr.
Strategic Advisor & Owner’s Representative Consultant
Paul V. Facchina Jr. is a seasoned construction executive and owner’s representative with more than thirty-five years of experience leading government, commercial, infrastructure, heavy civil, and real estate development projects.
His expertise spans executive construction management, owner’s representation, budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, risk management, quality assurance, strategic planning, and business development.
Among his career accomplishments, Paul served on the construction recovery team supporting operations at the Pentagon following September 11 and successfully authored Maryland House Bill HB719 supporting small businesses impacted by COVID-19.
As Strategic Advisor to Ascend Contracting Group, Paul provides executive guidance, operational insight, project advisory services, and business development support that strengthen the company’s ability to serve residential, commercial, and government clients.

Oscar Sagastizado
Senior Construction Advisor & MHIC License Holder
Oscar Sagastizado brings more than thirty years of construction experience across residential, commercial, industrial, and government projects.
For sixteen years he worked with Brickwood Contractors specializing in bridge rehabilitation, industrial painting, structural steel maintenance, sandblasting, and infrastructure restoration.
For the final ten years he served as Foreman overseeing field crews, project scheduling, safety compliance, quality control, and government construction operations.
As Senior Construction Advisor and MHIC License Holder for Ascend Contracting Group, Oscar provides technical leadership, workforce mentorship, quality assurance, operational guidance, and construction oversight while ensuring projects meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and professionalism.
